  • Apricot Extra Jam

Apricot Extra Jam is a lovely traditional flavour jam and one of our most popular. Our jam is made from halved fresh apricots, which produces a lovely soft set and flavoursome jam. While this is lovely spread on toast it is also commonly used by cake bakers to spread on a rich fruit cake to help a marzipan layer stick to the cake before icing.

  • Blackberry and Apple Extra Jam

Blackberries can be found growing wild throughout the UK and are more commonly known as brambles. We use cultivar varieties in our jam, rather than wild grown fruit, which produce larger and more juicy berries although there is no avoiding the pips! Apples belong to the rose family as well as blackberries so these two fruits together make a wonderful combination with a smoother texture than blackberries alone. A spoonful of this jam goes wonderfully in a bowl of rice pudding.

  • Blackcurrant Extra Jam

Blackcurrants grow well throughout the northern hemisphere and used to grow wild in the UK. They are full of vitamin C and make a firm set jam that is full of flavour. We hand pick our fruit from two local fruit farms in Esher, Surrey and Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. This preserve is great spread on toast or with scones and cream, but also makes a lovely accompaniment to cheese.

  • Damson Extra Jam

Damsons are members of the plum family native to the UK and Ireland, but the fruits are smaller and have a slightly sharper flavour. The fruit when ripe has a lovely blue/black colour and produces a firm set, richly flavoured jam. The fruit we use is hand-picked locally from foraged fruit and we remove most of the stones before cooking, but some are left in while cooking and impart a slight almond flavour to the jam. We do our best to remove these after cooking, but the finished product may contain stones.

    Available late August.

  • Gooseberry and Elderflower Extra Jam

Elderflower is a traditional accompaniment to gooseberry and produces a preserve with a subtly different flavour from gooseberry alone. The flower heads are foraged in June and washed before the small white flowers are added to the gooseberries at the beginning of cooking. When cooked green gooseberries and elderflowers will produce a pink coloured preserve that darkens in the jar over time. Gooseberry and elderflower is a lovely sharp flavoured jam – summer on a spoon!

  • Gooseberry Extra Jam

Gooseberries come from the same family of plants as blackcurrants, redcurrants and raspberries, the Saxifrages. There are many different varieties of gooseberry and we use hand-picked locally sourced green gooseberries to make our jam. We pick the fruit in June at the beginning of the summer season and this is normally the first preserve of the year that comes out of the kitchen. When cooked green gooseberries will produce a pink coloured preserve that darkens in the jar over time. Gooseberries produce a lovely sharp flavoured jam.

  • Greengage Extra Jam

Greengages are part of the plum family and all the gages were named after Sir William Gage, who popularised these fruit during the 18th Century. Gages are sweeter and have a more refined flavour than plums, making this one of our more popular soft set preserves. This jam is made from halved, stoned fruit, but occasionally a stone may find its way into the pan.

    Available late August.
