Loganberry Extra Jam
Loganberry is a hybrid fruit of blackberry and raspberry and produces a lovely rich red jam that is not quite as sweet as raspberry and it does contain pips. Most of the loganberries we use are grown in our garden and are fourth generation cuttings that have been rooted and passed down the female line of my family from my great grandmother. This very popular preserve is not widely available and the fruit is available in season during August.
All of our jams are extra jams, having more fruit in than typical supermarket brands. An extra jam has to have a minimum of 45g fruit per 100g product and must be made from whole fruit. Each of our jams is made seasonally and we use hand-picked, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We use granulated cane sugar in all of our jams and do not add any artificial flavours, preservatives or sweeteners.
Our jams have a best before date one year from the date of production and will be fine kept in a cupboard, larder or other cool, dark, dry place for many months; once opened they should be refrigerated and used within 3-4 weeks.
